It only gets worse....

My latest visit to the campground was quite an adventure. I abandoned my car at the PARK CLOSED sign and hiked in from the main road... went through 3 water crossings by boat, and finally made it to the entrance about half an hour later. Once I got there I took a moment to cool off in the motor home before I started out on my next venture. Since the access to the marina is now blocked off due to water on the road, you can only get to our boat via shuttle from the other side of the lake. So... I thought the rubber raft should be moved back to the campground. That way, if anyone does venture back to the motor home, they won't have to drive to Grapevine to take the shuttle back across to the marina to take the boat out. So... I swam as fast as I could across to the boat to avoid snakes. Thankfully, I made it without incident and was able to raft safely back across. Once I ended up back at the motor home, I had to decide how best to get back out to the main road. I decided to hike out the back way to avoid water crossings, which landed me in a neighborhood that I ended up walking for 30 minutes to get out of. It was a long hot walk back to the main road. But, I made it safely back to my car, thank heavens!

Thanks ever so much for attending to the refrigerator while you were at the motorhome so that Ben and I don't have to face food that's overstayed it's visit to the frig! (So sorry for the extreme conditions of the park HA!) Who knows where Ben and I will stay when we are back in Flower Mound this Sunday when we have to be at the orthodontist bright and early at 7:45am on Monday. You've painted a picture that I don't exactly want to take on at sun up and don't want to do after sun down when Boy Scouts is over at 9pm on Monday night. Humm . . .

Good news for Ben and I about the sunrise hike out of the campground on Monday morning :) The orthodontist had a cancellation for 11am and Ben now has a much more tolerable appointment time!
